Job Description

Job Summary

The Montessori Teacher will be responsible for creating a nurturing, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children aged 2 to 6 years. The role includes guiding children using Montessori principles, preparing learning materials, observing progress, and supporting holistic child development.

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Classroom Management & Teaching

  • Implement Montessori methodologies to support independent, hands-on learning.
  • Prepare and maintain Montessori materials and learning environments.
  • Guide children in practical life, sensorial, language, math, and cultural activities.
  • Support social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of each child.

2. Child Observation & Assessment

  • Regularly observe children to understand individual learning styles and needs.
  • Maintain records of children's progress and share updates with parents and supervisors.
  • Identify any developmental concerns and communicate them appropriately.

3. Parent Communication

  • Conduct parentteacher meetings and provide feedback on the childs growth.
  • Build positive relationships with parents and address queries in a professional manner.

4. Classroom Environment & Safety

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom.
  • Ensure all safety standards and hygiene practices are followed.

5. Collaboration & Professional Development

  • Work with co-teachers and staff to plan lessons and events.
  • Participate in training programs, workshops, and school activities.

Qualifications & Skills

Educational Qualification

  • Montessori certification from a recognized institute (AMI/AMS/NCME or equivalent).
  • Any Bachelors degree(preferred).

Skills Required

  • Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and child psychology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with young children.
  • Creativity in lesson planning and materials preparation.
  • Classroom management and organizational skills.

Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a Montessori or early childhood setting (freshers with certification may also be considered).

Work Schedule

  • Full-time
  • Monday to Friday (occasionally Saturdays)

Salary

  • Based on experience and qualifications.
