Job Description

University Name: Management & Information Technology (MIT) University, Sikkim
Location: Melli Campus (Sikkim) / Administrative Office (Noida)

About the Role

The Registrar will serve as the custodian of university records, ordinances, and statutory documents, while ensuring complete compliance with UGC, AICTE, PCI, BCI, and State regulations. The role demands strong expertise in academic administration, UGC 12B & 2F compliance, NEP 2020 documentation, and governance. The Registrar will be central to the university’s growth, supporting academic operations, student services, examinations, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Academic & Regulatory Compliance (Urgent work)

  • Documents for the university in achieving UGC 12B & 2F status and facilitate listing on the UGC website.
  • Prepare, maintain, and verify academic documents required Syllabus for UGC submissions as per NEP 2020 guidelines.
  • Draft and oversee ordinances, policies, and statutory records in compliance with UGC and State requirements.
  • Ensure proper documentation for new/fresh university establishment processes.
  • Advise on MOM, BOM, Academic Council and statutory body procedures.
  • Build academic networks with professors, lecturers, and regulatory experts.

2. Academic Administration

  • Supervise the maintenance and updating of student academic records.
  • Coordinate with departments for course registration, curriculum updates, and program changes.
  • Ensure timely issuance of transcripts, degrees, and certificates.

3. Examination & Evaluation Support

  • Assist the Controller of Examinations in scheduling and conducting exams.
  • Monitor processes for mark sheet preparation, result declaration, and grade verification.
  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of examination records.

4. Student Services & Grievance Handling

  • Facilitate student-related processes including migration certificates, NOCs, and verifications.
  • Address student grievances related to academic records in a professional and timely manner.

5. Data Management & Reporting

  • Oversee the digitization and secure storage of student records.
  • Prepare MIS reports for internal and external stakeholders.

6. Office Management & Coordination

  • Supervise daily operations of the Registrar’s Office.
  • Train and guide staff for efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Coordinate with other departments for smooth functioning of the university.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Administration, or related field.
  • Preferred: Master’s with Net / Ph.D. with proven experience in higher education administration.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in university administration, with prior experience as Registrar/Deputy Registrar preferred.
  • Strong expertise in UGC 12B & 2F compliance process and NEP 2020 documentation.
  • Proficiency in examination software, MS Office, and Google Workspace.
  • Excellent English drafting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Experience working with new/fresh university establishment will be an added advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
