Job Description

Role & responsibilities Candidate must be qualified in BE / B.Tech Mining with second class Managers certificate of competency from authorized Authority Should have hands-on experience in hard stone mines and quarries Following instructions or diagrams, lay out drill pattern and determine depth and diameter of blast holes Conduct field tests to determine type and quantity of explosives required Assemble primer charges using selected detonators, fuses, detonating cords and other materials Load explosives in blast holes as required (using equipment or by hand) Check and ensure the connectivity of electrical wires, detonating cords or fuses into series and connect series to blasting machines; control detonation device Handle, store and transport explosives and accessories in accordance with standard procedures, criteria and regulations, ensuring maximum safety Ensure that the highest level of quality of operation is consistently maintained help minimize downtime and wastage Complete all safety requirements for all applicable equipment and machinery Generally assist other related team members as and when required Improve working operations and safety Contribute to relevant costing/supply/budgetary reviews Effectively liaise and communicate and maintain a good relationship with team members, contractor/suppliers and other stakeholders as required Subject to appropriate criteria, general support of all project team members to ensure targets are met Maintain accurate data/records/documentation Ensure compliance with health and safety and all related legal/statutory regulations, policies and procedures, codes, professional duties, responsibilities and obligations and insert as applicable Immediately report problems/failures that may impact on the team or the organization to line manager Responsibly use resources and control expenses to meet budgetary controls Adhere to all organization policies and procedures Set an example for team members of commitment, safety expertise, work ethics and habits and personal character Preferred candidate profile Hands-on experience in stone quarry only preferred Perks and benefits As per market standard's
