Job Description — Microbiologist

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Microbiologist to join our laboratory team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing microbiological testing, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring accurate reporting in compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct routine microbiological tests on pharmaceutical, food, water, and environmental samples.

Perform microbial limit tests, sterility testing, pathogen detection, and environmental monitoring.

Operate laboratory instruments and maintain equipment calibration records.

Prepare media, reagents, and sterile materials following SOPs.

Maintain documentation as per GLP, ISO, NABL, and regulatory requirements.

Analyze results, prepare reports, and ensure timely communication with the quality team.

Follow safety protocols and maintain a contamination-free work environment.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of microbiological techniques and laboratory practices.

Ability to work with sterility chambers, autoclaves, incubators, colony counters, and advanced microbial testing equipment.

Excellent documentation and reporting abilities.

Good analytical and critical-thinking skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and digital record-keeping.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to troubleshoot laboratory procedures and maintain accuracy.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related field.

Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a microbiology or pharmaceutical laboratory (freshers with strong skills may also be considered).

Knowledge of pharma, food, and water microbiology will be preferred.

Salary

Up to ₹30,000 per month (based on skills and experience)
