MES App Engineer

Role & responsibilities

MES Project Implementation

• Lead the evaluation of technologies for MES deployment
• Design system architecture and prepare/validate Functional Design Documents
• Perform engineering validations and drive execution planning for project rollouts
• Implement and deploy MES applications on-site, including issue diagnosis and resolution during commissioning phases
• Conduct user acceptance testing and support smooth transition to operations
  

Manufacturing Systems & Process Optimization

• Work with MES tools and operation decision support applications in discrete manufacturing environments
• Integrate MES with SCADA/DCS systems and other OT (Operational Technology) layers
• Develop and maintain interfaces between MES and Level 4 (L4) applications
• Support and optimize real-time manufacturing processes and ensure reliable data flow
  

Data & Application Integration

• Configure and manage Real-Time Data Historians (e.g., IP21, PI)
• Integrate Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) with MES
• Implement analytics dashboards for enhanced decision-making during routine operations and process emergencies
  

System Health & Maintenance

• Configure applications based on standard procedures and business requirements
• Monitor application health, perform troubleshooting, and ensure stable system performance
• Set up alerts for early event detection to minimize process disruptions and maximize operational efficiency
  

Stakeholder Management & Digital Transformation

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Engineering, and IT
• Drive digitization and business process automation initiatives
• Ensure stakeholder alignment throughout project lifecycle and delivery
  

Documentation & Training

• Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, user manuals, and SOPs
• Provide knowledge transfer and training to end users and support staff
