MERN Full Stack Lead

As a Lead MERN Tech at Nitro Commerce, you will play a crucial role in steering the growing development team and laying down the architecture for future projects. You will be responsible for leading the development of core platform components used by multiple high-growth e-commerce brands, including React dashboards, headless storefronts, blazing-fast APIs, and cloud-native deployment pipelines. Your day-to-day activities may include architecting full-stack features using MongoDB, Express, React, and Node, reviewing code meticulously, designing scalable systems, debugging performance issues, collaborating with product and design teams, mentoring developers, and contributing to hiring decisions and roadmap planning. Key Responsibilities: - Architect full-stack features using MongoDB, Express, React, and Node - Review code rigorously and maintain high-quality standards - Design scalable systems for optimal performance and reliability - Debug performance issues and identify edge-case bugs - Collaborate with product and design teams to enhance the user experience - Mentor developers to foster a strong engineering culture - Participate in hiring decisions, roadmap planning, and early-stage technical direction Qualifications Required: - 5+ years of full-stack development experience with MERN - 1+ year of experience leading or mentoring development teams - Proficiency in React.js with expertise in hooks, routing, and state management - Strong skills in Node/Express, including REST APIs, authentication, middleware, and asynchronous flows - Solid understanding of MongoDB, including schema design, queries, and indexing - Experience with CI/CD, Docker, and deployment workflows - Strong emphasis on clean code practices, testing, and performance optimization - Proven track record of delivering real-world projects with usability and impact In addition, we are looking for individuals who are system thinkers capable of understanding both the big picture and low-level details, builders willing to dive into unfamiliar code, professionals who take ownership and value clarity, and pragmatic technologists who balance refactoring with shipping.
