As a Merchandising Manager at SCC, a purpose-driven apparel manufacturing and export company specializing in high-quality woven garments, you will play a crucial role in leading product development, ensuring timely execution, and maintaining strong customer relationships. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Product Ownership** - Lead product development and execution for woven shirts, demonstrating expertise in fabrics, yarns, constructions, finishes, trims, and workmanship. - Review and interpret tech packs meticulously to ensure accurate translation into sampling and bulk production. - Drive product improvements, value engineering, and sustainable material options aligned with customer requirements. - **Merchandising & Execution** - Oversee the end-to-end order lifecycle, including development, costing, order confirmation, production follow-up, quality approvals, and shipment. - Maintain strict control over specs, measurements, construction details, and finishing standards. - Implement T&A discipline, proactively identify risks, and ensure prompt corrective actions. - **Customer Interface** - Serve as the primary contact for assigned international customers, managing communication on product clarifications, approvals, timelines, and execution status. - Support customer meetings, reviews, and visits with confidence and product expertise. - **Team Leadership** - Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of merchandisers/executives, ensuring clear task allocation, strong follow-ups, and high accountability. - Foster a culture of ownership, precision, and execution excellence within the team. - **Cross-Functional Collaboration** - Collaborate closely with sourcing, production, quality, and logistics teams to ensure seamless execution of orders. - Embed sustainability, compliance, and quality requirements from the development stage itself. **Qualifications Required:** - 10-15 years of experience in export apparel merchandising, particularly with a focus on woven shirts. - Exceptional product knowledge with a keen eye for detail and construction. - Demonstrated ability to manage teams and handle complex, multi-style programs effectively. - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. - Experience with sustainable fabrics and responsible manufacturing practices is a significant advantage.
