MEP Manager

Position: MEP Manager

Location: Chennai.

Experience: 6 + yrs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Execution & MEP Planning

• Plan and oversee the complete MEP scope (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, BMS) in line with architectural requirements.
  
• Coordinate and supervise new hotel construction, renovations, and retrofitting works.
  
• Evaluate BOQs, technical specs, and drawings, and manage vendor engagements.
  

2. Team & Vendor Coordination

• Lead and mentor a team of MEP engineers and supervisors.
  
• Collaborate with architects, civil teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure timely project delivery.
  
• Manage contractor performance, conduct regular site inspections, and track milestones.
  

3. Compliance & Safety

• Ensure adherence to Indian building codes, fire safety standards, electrical norms, and green building practices.
  
• Conduct quality checks and commissioning for all MEP systems prior to handover.
  

4. Budget & Procurement

• Prepare and monitor project budgets related to MEP components.
  
• Review vendor quotations, conduct negotiations, and ensure cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
  

5. Maintenance & Facility Oversight

• Post-handover, develop preventive maintenance schedules for critical equipment (e.g., HVAC, DG sets, fire alarms, pumps).
  
• Ensure smooth operations of MEP systems at operational hotels.
  

Key Skills Required

• Expertise in HVAC, HT/LT Electrical Systems, Fire Protection Systems, Plumbing, STP/ETP
  
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and MEP-specific design tools
  
• Strong project management, vendor negotiation, and documentation skills
  
• Familiarity with sustainable energy practices (solar, LED retrofits, etc.)
