MEP Estimator

As a Mechanical Estimator, your role involves preparing detailed cost estimates for various mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and piping. Your responsibilities will include: - Reviewing drawings, specifications, and bid documents to accurately determine project scope and requirements. - Performing quantity take-offs using specialized estimating software and industry standards. - Soliciting and analyzing vendor/subcontractor quotes for equipment and materials. - Developing comprehensive pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work. - Coordinating with senior estimators/project managers to ensure the accuracy and competitiveness of bids. - Participating in pre-bid meetings, preparing RFIs, and clarifying project scope with clients. - Maintaining an up-to-date database of labor rates, material prices, and supplier contacts. - Assisting in the development of value engineering options and cost-saving alternatives. - Ensuring that all estimates comply with relevant U.S. building codes, ASHRAE, SMACNA, and industry standards. Qualifications and Skills required for this position include: - Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. - 3-8 years of experience in mechanical estimating, preferably with exposure to U.S. projects. - Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems. - Proficiency with estimating/take-off software such as Bluebeam, Planswift, Trimble, FastPIPE/FastDUCT, or similar tools. - Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents. - Strong Excel and general MS Office skills. - Familiarity with U.S. construction codes, standards, and CSI divisions. - Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities. - Capability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and meet deadlines effectively.
