(Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.The shift pattern for this position is Tuesday to Friday - hours flexible to support consultants.The Medical Unit at Vale of Leven Hospital has a small administrative team supporting the workload of the visiting consultants from RAH who undertake Out Patient Clinics on a regular basis.
About the Role:
As a Medical Secretary, you will play a key role in supporting the workload of Consultants in Gastroenterology, Endocrinology and Respiratory. You will be accurately transcribing medical dictations and providing an efficient administrative support to the specialties you support. You will be an essential part of the team, contributing to the smooth running of our busy General Medical unit.
Key Requirements
- Qualifications: Two standard grades, including English, are essential. A medical secretarial qualification is desirable.
- Experience: Previous experience in a medical secretarial role and transcribing from digital dictation or using audio tapes, ideally within a healthcare setting. Familiarity with TrakCare is essential to this post.
- Skills: Strong organisational abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. High level attention to detail and speed with typing is essential for success in this role.
- Personal Attributes: A reliable and flexible approach to work, along with a commitment to maintaining good attendance, will be essential for success in this position.
