Job Description

Role & responsibilities

This role will oversee the hospitals clinical governance, medical operations, quality standards, and clinical workforce. This role ensures safe, ethical, and patient-centric care delivery while driving operational excellence, compliance, and medical performance across all departments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Governance & Quality

  • Establish, monitor, and enforce clinical protocols, SOPs, and evidence-based practices.
  • Lead NABH/JCI accreditation processes and continuous quality improvement programs.
  • Review clinical outcomes, audits, morbidity/mortality analysis, and corrective actions.

2. Medical Operations Leadership

  • Oversee day-to-day functioning of all medical departments, ICUs, emergency, and specialty units.
  • Ensure optimal resource allocation, doctor rostering, and clinical workflow efficiency.
  • Drive adoption of clinical technology, EMR systems, and digital documentation.

3. Medical Staff Management

  • Lead supervision, evaluation, and onboarding of consultants, duty doctors, and residents.
  • Conduct CME programs, clinical training, and capability-building for medical teams.
  • Address clinician grievances, conflict resolution, and maintain discipline & ethics.

4. Patient Safety & Experience

  • Ensure zero-compromise culture on patient safety, infection control, and adverse event management.
  • Collaborate with nursing, operations, and administrative teams to enhance patient experience.
  • Monitor TAT, treatment pathways, and quality indicators.

5. Regulatory & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all medical laws, statutory requirements, and government regulations.
  • Liaise with external medical bodies, audit committees, and regulatory authorities.
  • Manage medico-legal cases, documentation, and risk mitigation.

6. Strategic & Administrative Leadership

  • Partner with CEO/COO on medical strategy, service expansion, and new clinical programs.
  • Evaluate opportunities for new specialties, medical equipment planning, and technology upgrades.
  • Support budgeting, cost optimization, and revenue enhancement from medical services.
