Job Description

Welcome and greet patients in person or via telephone.
Verify patient information by interviewing, recording medical history, and confirming the purpose of the visit.
Prepare patients for healthcare visits by directing or accompanying them to examination rooms.
Perform preliminary physical tests, including blood pressure, weight, and temperature; summarize patient history.
Secure and maintain patient information confidentiality; complete diagnostic and procedure coding.
Counsel patients by communicating physician orders and answering questions regarding surgery.
Educate patients about medications, diet, and post-treatment instructions.
Schedule surgeries, coordinate with surgical centers, verify times with patients, and prepare charts and pre-admission forms.
Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards, procedures, and legal regulations.
Manage inventory, order supplies, verify receipt, and maintain equipment through preventive maintenance.
Update professional knowledge through educational opportunities and publications.
Enhance practice reputation by taking ownership of tasks and exploring opportunities to add value.
Complete medical records by documenting patient examinations, treatments, and test results.
Generate revenue by recording billing information, completing insurance forms, and responding to third-party inquiries.
