We are looking for applicants who have completed or are currently engaged in a course involving mechanical design, such as a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a standalone design course. We are also accepting those with practical, hands-on experience in this field as long as the other requirements are met, and you align with our culture as described in the section above. We require a Mechanical Systems Engineer for the design, modelling, and testing of mechanical systems for a variety of applications, as well as overseeing their fabrication. You wouldn’t just be implementing pre-approved designs but would be part of the design process from the beginning and would be encouraged to contribute to the process with suggestions and input keeping in mind the end goal we are trying to achieve with any given project. We work extensively with defence, so it wouldn’t be uncommon for you to find yourself pushing the limits of existing technologies and solutions. You would be doing this while adhering to a strict set of standards and procedures, and in some cases contributing to creating new ones or amending existing ones, to ensure that the things you learn are useful to everyone, and vice versa. The nature of our work will sometimes lead to long or irregular hours i.e., working into the night or over a weekend. We take great efforts to ensure this isn’t a regular occurrence, but it is likely to happen from time to time, and we feel it’s important to be up front about that; it’s the trade-off we make for being invested in our projects, especially as a smaller company. Additionally, your remuneration would not be competitive with the ones that larger firms provide, at least not to start, but would grow to that point along with the company as a whole. We understand that that’s not for everyone, and don’t expect it to be, but it is the kind of person we’re looking for right now.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Analysing a given problem statement or client brief and working with the rest of the team to determine the best design decisions, component choices, and so on.
• Identifying and recommending changes to improve technical capabilities and performance.
• Designing, assembling, inspecting, and testing mechanical systems, components, and equipment.
• Communicating with vendors and other partners for documentation, materials, and design assistance.
• Adhering to the internal SOPs for design and safety and suggesting changes as and when necessary.
• Staying up to date with the latest changes in the field, including industry trends, best practices, and so on.
• Maintaining the company culture of quality and safety in all professional activities and output.

Requirements

Minimum requirements

• Solid fundamentals in mechanical engineering.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong mindset for testing and experimentation.
• Proficiency at technical research.
• Ability to design components and systems while keeping manufacturability in mind.
• Familiarity with CAD software such as Fusion 360 or Solidworks.
• Familiarity with tools of the trade i.e. calipers, dial gauges, etc.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, especially in English.

Preferred Requirements

• Hands-on experience with 3D design, modelling, and simulation. Preferably in Solidworks. Good understanding of the fabrication process.
• B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience level
B.Tech graduates and above preferred. Those with work experience would be given preference.

Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
