Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Experience: 3 to 6 Years

Location: Saswad, Pune

Job Purpose

To ensure reliable operation, availability, and performance of CMM machines (Conventional and advanced generations) and other manufacturing equipment through effective preventive, breakdown, and corrective maintenance, minimizing downtime and supporting production quality and delivery targets.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Machine Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Perform preventive, breakdown, and corrective maintenance of CMM machines (Conventional, Semi-automatic, and advanced generations).

Diagnose and rectify mechanical issues related to guideways, bearings, ball screws, air bearings, spindles, linear motion systems, fixtures, and structural components.

Attend machine breakdowns promptly and ensure minimum downtime.

Support installation, commissioning, and trial runs of new and refurbished machines.

2. Preventive Maintenance (PM)-

Develop and execute Preventive Maintenance schedules for all mechanical equipment.

Maintain PM checklists, lubrication plans, alignment checks, and machine health records.

Identify recurring failures and implement root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.

3. Equipment & Utilities Maintenance

Maintain workshop equipment such as compressors, hydraulic units, material handling systems, and auxiliary machinery.

Ensure proper functioning of pneumatic and hydraulic systems used in CMM machines.

Monitor and maintain machine accuracy, leveling, and mechanical calibration readiness.

4. Spare Parts & Inventory Management

Identify critical mechanical spares for CMM machines and conventional equipment.

Coordinate with stores and purchase teams for timely availability of spares.

Support vendor development and repair activities for mechanical parts.

5. Continuous Improvement & TPM

Participate in TPM, 5S, and Lean initiatives within the maintenance function.

Suggest improvements to enhance machine reliability, safety, and maintenance efficiency.

Support machine modification and retrofitting activities for older-generation machines.

6. Documentation & Compliance

Maintain maintenance logs, breakdown reports, PM records, and spare consumption data.

Ensure compliance with safety standards, machine guarding, and statutory requirements.

Support internal and external audits related to maintenance and safety.

7. Cross-Functional Support

Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to support machine uptime and accuracy requirements.

Train operators on basic machine care and first-level maintenance.

Support customer service teams, if required, for machine troubleshooting and field issues.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems in machine tools and CMMs

Experience in conventional, CNC, and precision machines

Hands-on experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, guideways, and alignment

Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and problem-solving skills

Familiarity with TPM, 5S, and Lean maintenance practices

Good documentation and communication skills

Educational Qualification

ITI/Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical, Machanist

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
