Mechanical Fitter

Role Overview: You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing pumps, electric motors, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment to ensure their reliability, efficiency, and safe operation. Your main tasks will include conducting preventive and breakdown maintenance, shaft alignment, balancing of rotating equipment, replacing bearings and seals, and troubleshooting mechanical faults. Key Responsibilities: - Perform installation, alignment, dismantling, and assembly of pumps, motors, gearboxes, and associated equipment. - Conduct preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime. - Carry out shaft alignment (dial/laser) and balancing of rotating equipment. - Replace and service bearings, seals, couplings, and lubrication systems. - Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults, vibrations, and abnormal noises. - Ensure compliance with safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies. - Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, spares usage, and equipment history. - Collaborate with electrical, instrumentation, and operations teams for smooth equipment performance. Qualifications Required: - Education: ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Fitting, Maintenance, or equivalent trade qualification. - Experience: Minimum two years of relevant experience in pump, motor, and gearbox maintenance. - Strong knowledge of rotating equipment mechanics, alignment techniques, and troubleshooting methods.
