Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary

Working closely with the US Engineering teams. Conceptualize, design, and develop new and existing products. Participate in design review, surveillance, and project management activities. Plan and organize technical work involving new and existing product designs, product CAD models, layouts, and product prints.

Essential Job

Advance Knowledge of CAD Tools for Product Design

Knowledge of using Advanced CAD Tools such as CATIA in the automotive industry for Product Design, CAD Modelling, layouts, and product prints. Good knowledge of GD&T standards, Limits, Fits & Tolerances. Ability to read and interpret product drawings and prints for GD&T, Weld symbols and apply GD&T.

Creates and Manages All Engineering Information in the PDM

Establishes and maintains Bills of Materials for each product assembly. Creates and manages the maintenance and archiving of component designs, assemblies, models, design layouts, and all other controlled product design information.

Participates in design review activities

Interacts with Mechanical Engineer and Product Development Team to provide and receive product design direction on the new and current products. Researches and recommends new design engineering enhancements at a general level.

1. Plastic Materials & Manufacturing

• Deep knowledge of

  plastic materials

  , fillers, shrinkage, warpage, and durability.
• Experience in automotive plastic component designknowledge of shifters, pumps, and HVAC piping interfaces is an added advantage.
• Experience with

  Injection Molding

  , 2K molding, blow molding, over-molding.
• Ability to design with proper

  drafts, ribs, bosses, snaps, clips

  , and thickness optimization.
• Understanding of mold flow considerations and tooling requirements.

2. Automotive Domain Knowledge

• Experience working with OEMs/Tier-1 suppliers
• Knowledge of

  vehicle development cycles

  , gateway milestones, and release systems.
• Exposure to

  regulatory standards

  , safety requirements, and validation procedures.

3. Tolerance & Validation

• Strong understanding of

  GD&T

  , tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Knowledge of

  DV/PV testing

  , validation planning, and issue resolution.

Communication

Good communication skills in oral and written English, to be able to participate in design reviews, project meetings, and other activities working with the teams in the US.

Experience

• Advanced Knowledge of CATIA is a must.
• Experience in Machining, sheet metal, casting and plastic design process.
• 5+ years of experience working in the Automotive or Aerospace Industry Preferred.
• Experience of converting 2D to 3D using Catia V5.
• Experience with Product Design of Aesthetic Mechanical Assemblies is Preferred.
• Understanding of GD&T, PDM, ERP systems.
• Experience of working with Enovia is desirable.
• Experience of working with US Automotive Company is desirable.
