Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for a dynamic Mechanical Engineer to join our team and take on a key role in overseeing conveyor installation and maintenance processes in an underground coal mine. As a Mechanical Engineer specializing in conveyor systems, you will be responsible for supervising and leading the installation and maintenance of conveyor systems in an underground coal mining operation. You will ensure the highest standards of safety, performance, and efficiency are maintained throughout the process.

Responsibilities

-Lead and supervise the installation and maintenance of conveyor systems in underground coal mining operations.

-Ensure all mechanical systems are operating efficiently and safely.

-Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.

-Perform troubleshooting and repairs on conveyors and related mechanical equipment.

-Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and safety personnel, to ensure smooth operation.

-Provide technical expertise and mentorship to maintenance staff.

-Prepare and maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and any required upgrades or repairs.

Qualifications

-Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on conveyor systems, preferably in an underground coal mining environment.

-Strong knowledge of conveyor mechanics, maintenance techniques, and equipment troubleshooting.

-Familiarity with underground coal mining operations and the unique challenges they present.

-Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead and work in a team environment.

-Strong communication and organizational skills.

-Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and adhere to safety protocols.

-Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

-Certification in mining safety and relevant mechanical systems is a plus.
