Mechanical Engineer

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for preparing layout and assembly drawings based on input from design/discipline/project engineers, and developing them into detailed drawings to meet project requirements. It is essential to ensure that all drawings are prepared and implemented in accordance with Jord/ISO procedures and standards. This role will involve working within the specific discipline related to their qualification and in a multidisciplinary department. The Mechanical Engineer will report to the nominated engineering manager. Key Responsibilities: - Develop layout and detailed drawings, material lists, utilizing engineering 2D/3D drafting software. - Create assembly and detail drawings based on input from design/discipline engineers/checkers. - Ensure dimensional accuracy of drawings/documents used for manufacturing. - Utilize check punch lists during preparation and self-checking of drawings. - Prepare and self-check drawings concerning the assembly of each component. - Edit and self-check drawings based on feedback from customers/fabrication/checkers/design/discipline engineers. - Prepare and self-check Bill of Materials (BOM) and its weight in the drawing, as well as procurement BOM. - Collaborate with checkers/design engineers to address design changes and incorporate them into drawings for optimization. - Apply design codes/standards and good engineering practices effectively. - Provide freehand sketches of designs for initial understanding or detailed input when necessary. - Discuss new ideas and system changes with draughtsmen and checking groups. - Deliver output within agreed planned dates and budgeted hours. - Ensure all drawings/documents are backed up or stored in the Job repository/Local Server upon completion. - Supervise and train other drafters to ensure accuracy and quality output. - Seek assistance from the engineering manager/design engineers in resolving complex or ambiguous issues. - Support sales and other departments by providing drawings and sketches for operational, presentation, tender, proposal requirements, and undertake special tasks as assigned. - Adhere to all Jord company policies and IMS requirements. Skills and Experience: - Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering. - 8 to 15 years of experience in skid-mounted design or pressure vessel design. - Proficiency in sales/tender processes. - Exposure to pressure vessels, air-cooled heat exchangers, skid-mounted units, steel structure fabrication, and piping. - Demonstrated experience in managing projects from inception to completion. - Ability to collaborate effectively with team members at all levels across multiple departments involved in various projects.,
