Position Overview:

Junior Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Basic knowledge of pumps, glands, and types of pumps.
• Ability to calculate head and select appropriate pumps.
• Familiarity with types of mechanical seals.
• Knowledge of work permits (hot, cold, height) and issuing permits.
• Maintaining a list of critical spare parts and ensuring their availability.
• Understanding packing size, nut and bolt sizes, and material quality.
• Knowledge of compressors, reactors, and other utility equipment.
• Supporting maintenance of pumps, reactors, air compressors, etc.
• Understanding reactor maintenance, including shaft alignment and run-out.
• Knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Maintaining records and logs or willingness to be trained.
• Conducting daily plant rounds and distributing tasks to juniors.
• Maintaining and updating daily logbooks.
• Prioritizing tasks and ensuring timely completion.
• Assigning jobs to junior staff and reviewing their progress.

• Knowledge of safety and permit-to-work systems.

• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain accurate documentation.

Educational Qualification:

• Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
