Mechanical Design Engineer

Position

Experience:

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with strong expertise in machine design for industrial equipment and special purpose machines (SPM). The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in SolidWorks and a background in designing machinery for sectors such as printing, paper, packaging, material handling, or automation.

Profiles with relevant SolidWorks experience and background in machine design will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop custom machines, mechanisms, and assemblies.
  
• Create 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings with GD&T using SolidWorks.
  
• Prepare and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure adherence to engineering documentation standards.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Electrical, Controls, Production, and Service.
  
• Participate in machine installations, commissioning, and troubleshooting at customer sites.
  
• Support R&D initiatives and contribute to product improvement activities.
  
• Conduct basic design calculations and apply engineering fundamentals for mechanical systems.
  
• Ensure compliance with ISO/ANSI standards and maintain quality in all design outputs.
  

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in SolidWorks (mandatory); experience with Creo or Inventor is an added advantage.
  
• Prior experience in design of SPMs, automation systems, material handling equipment, or industrial machinery.
  
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, GD&T, and basic FEA.
  
• Familiarity with AutoCAD 2D drafting and PDM/PLM systems.
  
• Knowledge of mechanical OEM components such as belts, sprockets, gearboxes, bearings, etc.
  
• Understanding of basic electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  
• Strong communication, documentation, and project coordination skills.
  

Preferred Industry Background:

• OEMs in Special Purpose Machines, Machine Tools, or Industrial Automation
  
• Printing Machinery, Packaging Machinery, or Paper Industry Equipment Manufacturers
  
• Material Handling or Assembly Line Equipment Companies
  

Travel Requirements:

Up to 10% travel may be required for site support, machine installation, or commissioning.

Profiles with relevant SolidWorks experience and background in machine design will be considered.
