Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Design and develop sheet metal products as per project requirements and specifications
  • Prepare 3D Model, GA drawings, and fabrication drawings
  • Apply GD&T principles on drawings to ensure functional fit, interchangeability, and manufacturability
  • Design sheet metal components including enclosures, MCC Panels, PLC Panels, Control Desks etc.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards (IEC, IS, etc.)
  • Coordinate with production and procurement teams and ensure smooth manufacturing process
  • Support production during fabrication, assembly, and inspection stages
  • Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost, and ease of assembly
  • Review and revise drawings based on feedback from manufacturing and quality teams
  • Prepare and maintain BOMs and technical documentation

Preferred candidate profile

  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal design
  • Proficient in GD&T
  • Good understanding of tolerances, fits, and inspection requirements
  • Experience in electrical panel mechanical design (bare panels)
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Understanding of fabrication processes (bending, punching, welding, finishing)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
