Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

Diploma in Engineering with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehousing

• Proficient in the use of computer applications such as Microsoft Word & Excel
• Proficient in forklift operation (with licence). Stand up reach truck preferred
• General knowledge of warehouse operations, administration, document flow, and relevant legal/accounting regulations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Accurately pull parts for production areas and accurately stock parts in warehouse locations

• Ship and receive both finished equipment as well as components
• Validate the shipping materials and goods with the packing slips
• Follow-up with suppliers for material readiness w.r.t Open Purchase/Internal Orders
• Arranging pickup at suppliers premises and ensure On Time Delivery.
• Keep track of in-transit shipments with their tracking details in Open Orders sheet.
• Collaborating with the purchasing department to resolve discrepancies in deliveries and documents.
• Documents checking for Checklist approvals to file BOE in Customs
• Invoice/Document verification (of suppliers) for valid charges before sending to Finance for payment.
• Doing GRN, Creating Sales Invoice, DCs , Work Orders with maintaining the proper flow of warehouse documentation following established procedures.
• Ensure the completion of all paperwork relating to inbound and outbound shipments.
• Keep an organized record of all shipments, invoices including freight charges.
• Monitor inventory records and file reports of discrepancies in quantities and damages to management
• Count or weigh parts to check quantity accuracy.
• Identify and address inventory reduction and relocation, and document correctly all such operations.
• Perform regular physical inventories, Cycle count of commodities in the warehouse. Maintain inventory records.

• Continuously improve processes to better safety, quality or efficiency
• Maintain a clean/organized work area through daily 5S and maintain equipment accordingly

• This position requires the ability to sit, stand and walk unassisted.
• Requires the use of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
• The employee is required to talk and hear. Normal correctable vision is required.

• Conduct daily pre-start meeting.
• Understand and assign daily priorities based on business requirements.
• Daily monitoring and supervision of all warehouse activities and warehouse staff, adjustment of daily workloads and priorities depending upon changing business priorities.
• Oversee warehouse receipts, deliveries and dispatches to ensure quality and quantity of commodities.
• Verify quality and count of commodities being received, collected and delivered from the Wabtec warehouse.
• Check all loads before they are dispatched; spot check all goods received.
• Become proficient in areas of Warehouse operations to cover daily operations if and when required. ie. Forklift operation
• Liaise with transport vendors as point of site contact
• Monitoring and controlling inventory integrity through audit and correct material handling practices.
• Resolve inventory problems in a timely manner and escalate as required.
• Track and report non-conforming products to ensure transactional integrity.
• Supervise cleaning, maintenance and repair of the warehouse.
