Manufacturing Process Engineer

Role Overview: You will be joining Wing's Manufacturing and Supply Chain team as a Manufacturing Process Engineer based in Chennai, India. Your role will involve working with innovative drone technology and scaled production processes to ensure the successful manufacturing of sophisticated drone systems. You will play a crucial part in driving quality and efficiency in the manufacturing process by collaborating with various teams and implementing manufacturing best practices. Key Responsibilities: - Act as the primary on-site Manufacturing Engineering lead at the Contract Manufacturing (CM) facility, overseeing all manufacturing process-related activities and issues. - Collaborate with Program Management, Quality, and Testing teams to ensure comprehensive production coverage and drive quality improvements. - Resolve manufacturing issues by conducting Design of Experiments (DOEs) and implementing solutions in a fast-paced CM environment. - Provide engineering support for the design, development, and implementation of mechanical jigs and fixtures to enhance process control and operational efficiency. - Develop standard processes and documentation for manufacturing processes, including process flow charts, SOPs, and tool and fixture requirements. - Partner with Design teams to integrate Design for Manufacturability (DFM/A) principles early in the product development cycle. - Interface with Design, Quality, and Sourcing teams to ensure efficient component sourcing and successful integration into manufacturing processes. - Expected 10-15% domestic travel for the role. Qualifications Required: - 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering roles, including NPI to Mass Production experience. - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical field. - Strong manufacturing background in developing robust and repeatable processes for scaling new products. - Experience with PCB and SMT processes, coating application, and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) is a plus. - Ability to provide DFM/DFA feedback for continuous manufacturing improvement. - Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. - Proficiency in using 3D CAD software for fixture design review and modifications. - Understanding of GD&T principles and tolerance stack-up analysis. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners.,
