Role & responsibilities

Product Innovation & Development

• Lead the development of innovative and market-driven cosmetic products (e.g., skincare, haircare, color cosmetics, personal care, veterinary etc).
• Supervise formulation development, testing, stability, and scale-up processes.
• Collaborate with marketing and product management teams to align technical development with market trends and consumer insights.
• Oversee lab trials, pilot batches, and technology transfers to manufacturing.

Team & Project Management

• Manage and mentor R&D scientists, chemists, and technicians.
• Develop and maintain project timelines and resource allocation for all R&D initiatives.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (QA/QC, Production, Packaging, Regulatory, Marketing, Business Development).

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure formulations comply with regulatory requirements
• Maintain accurate documentation including product dossiers, stability reports, formulation records, and safety assessments.
• Oversee preparation of technical data for product registrations, certifications (e.g., cruelty-free, organic, dermatologically tested).

Process Improvement & Technology

• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvement in formulations and manufacturing.
• Evaluate and implement new raw materials, delivery systems, and technologies.
• Maintain knowledge of current trends, innovations, and best practices in the cosmetic science field.

Vendor & Supplier Coordination

• Evaluate and qualify raw material suppliers.
• Collaborate with procurement on sourcing innovative ingredients and materials.

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelors or Masters degree in Cosmetic Industry.

• 5–10 years of experience in R&D within the cosmetics or personal care industry.
• Proven track record of successful product launches.
• Strong knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, formulation techniques, and product safety.
• Familiarity with GMP, ISO standards, and regulatory Experience working with cross-functional teams including marketing, packaging, and manufacturing.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in formulation software and documentation systems.
