Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Job Purpose:

  • Handle statutory and finance audits by timely compilation, validation, and submission of financial and other data to Auditors.
  • Prepare presentations and reports for Board meeting purposes.
  • Analyse the financial and operational data to prepare accurate MIS reports periodically for top management evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Statutory & Finance Audit Support

  • Compile, collate, and present financial data required for statutory and other audits.
  • Coordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors, tax consultants, and other external agencies.
  • Prepare audit schedules including Trial Balance and ledger extracts, Financial Statements schedules for statutory audits and Limited Reviews.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records required for audits and statutory compliance.
  • Preparation of Cash Flow Statements.
  • Ensure timely submission of audit queries, explanations, and supporting documents.
  • Track audit observations and assist in closure of audit points.
  • Liaise with various other departments for data collection.

2. MIS Preparation & Reporting

  • Prepare periodic MIS reports (monthly/quarterly) covering:
    • Sales, purchases, margins, and stock movement
    • Store-wise / showroom-wise performance
    • Gross margin and wastage analysis
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of data across MIS and books of accounts.
  • Support management with customized reports as and when required.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data flow from ERP/accounting systems.
  • Maintain confidentiality and data integrity at all times.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and audit requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PPTs and ERP/accounting software.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to co-ordinate with auditors and other departments.
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and handle multiple data requests.
  • Familiarity with jewellery industry operations and reporting practices (preferred).

Qualification & Experience:

  • Qualification: M.Com / CA Inter / CMA Inter or equivalent.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in audit support, MIS, or finance roles (jewellery/retail/manufacturing industry preferred).
