Job Description

Meet Our Team:

The Content Systems/MSC Engineering team builds the applications and services that power Warner Bros Discovery s content supply chain. Our applications cover the entire breadth of the media supply chain, from idea to distribution. We have a robust global community of thousands of internal Warner Bros Discovery users who rely on our apps every day to get television produced, on the air, and onto Discovery+.

We re looking for a Manager who can be an integral part of our new development team in Warner Bros Discovery s Bangalore office.

Roles Responsibilities:

You understand a broad range of computer science concepts, and know how,
when, and when not to use them. You can dive deep into a wide range of
technical problems offering suggestions and feedback to your team. Your
interest in computer science has not faded as you moved into a leadership role
and you are still comfortable with technical details.
You work with key stakeholders to deliver a high-quality product ensuring that
software development always remains under control and on track.
Your written and verbal communication skills are top notch. You can distill key points out of complex technical descriptions to share with non-technical
stakeholders, adapting your language and style of communication depending
on the audience. You communicate through data, dates, and facts using
emotion judiciously to motivate and inspire.
You lead by example and do not consider yourself above individual contributor work. You are comfortable teaching best practices by showing developers, not just telling people. Teams follow your lead because you are an inspirational
leader, because you are right, and because you can show everyone high
quality examples of your own work.
You have demonstrated the ability to make great hiring decisions as is
evidenced by the performance of developers on your team, and you are able to
retain and develop the best developers.
You have demonstrated the capacity to make decisions for more than one
development team or functional area showing that your judgment is fungible

What to Bring :

12 -15 years leading and managing a software development teams (providing coaching, mentoring, setting goals, and recruiting talent)
Experience with event driven architecture or asynchronous messaging services
Experience developing Single Page Applications with a modern UI framework
High proficiency and technical leadership with technologies on our stack including Java (Spring) and Angular 6 and higher, AWS , PostgreSQL.
Experience working within a SAFe Agile team, collaborating with others to build software and iteratively improve it
You have a proven track record of designing and building applications for media workflows, media catalogs, and asset registries
You are an effective communicator, demonstrating this in your discussions with the team and stakeholders and through your documentation
You solve business problems with simple and straightforward solutions, applying appropriate technologies and software engineering best practices.
You deliver high-quality results the first time and improve code, documentation, and results with each iteration. Your team trusts your work.
