Role & responsibilities

power system studies

The role involves simulation model development, dynamic studies, protection coordination, grid code compliance evaluation, and supporting design & commissioning of HVDC systems.

• Perform and review detailed studies for HVDC projects, including:
• Load flow and contingency analysis
• Short circuit and fault level studies
• Dynamic & transient stability studies
• EMT simulations for LCC/VSC HVDC
• Harmonic analysis and filter design validation
• Insulation coordination and surge analysis
• Reactive power and voltage stability studies
• Evaluate grid impact of HVDC operation, outages, and converter control behavior.
• Develop and verify

  PSCAD/EMTDC, PSSE, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, RTDS

  models for AC/DC systems.

• Review system study reports and models provided by

  Hitachi Energy, Siemens Energy, GE

  .
• Coordinate technical discussions with OEMs for:
• Converter control models
• Harmonics & filter design
• Dynamic performance requirements
• Grid code compliance
• Power quality and stability
• Evaluate performance of AC filters, DC filters, smoothing reactors, and reactive compensation equipment.

Preferred candidate profile

• Hands-on experience with at least one major OEM:

• Hitachi Energy HVDC

  ,

• Siemens Energy HVDC PLUS

  ,

• GE Grid HVDC

  .
• Strong expertise in using tools like

  PSCAD/EMTDC, DIgSILENT, PSSE, ETAP

  , and preferably

  RTDS

  .
• Experience with

  LCC and/or VSC HVDC technologies

  .
• Experience in AC transmission, FACTS, and large grid integration projects is preferred.
