Role Overview: As a Software Development Engineer at KPMG in India, you will be responsible for developing software applications and services to simplify tasks for customers. Your role involves owning the entire development and support process for software programs, proposing solutions, driving implementation, suggesting process improvements, mentoring team members, and ensuring high-priority tasks are completed. Key Responsibilities: - Own the delivery of a major component in a service or a small service entirely as part of a feature delivery. - Suggest improvements to processes and methodologies to enhance delivery speed and quality. - Mentor and guide other WL1 SDEs in the team and assist in the hiring process. - Question requirements and challenge when necessary. - Identify the value of tasks and prioritize the highest priority items. - Demonstrate a good understanding of Java programming language and the framework. - Test drive features and follow TDD/BDD practices. - Implement design patterns in code and write clean, maintainable code. - Understand continuous integration and continuous delivery processes. - Have a good working knowledge of Linux/Unix, Docker, Kubernetes, and scripting in Python or Bash. - Understand basic security paradigms and write secure code by default.
