Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

This position is required to achieve the desired level of performance in the following Key Result areas:

  • Product Innovation:

    Developing new products to meet changing consumer demands or to fill gaps in the market. This might involve creating entirely new food items or significantly improving or modifying existing ones.
  • Application of domain knowledge (formulation/technology transfer/ innovation) to convert ideas into final products as per the intended design Creative development resulting in the launch of new products in both current and new categories
  • Provide technical knowledge and be a functional expert in R&D and align product brief together with cross functional teams
  • Responsible for the timely and right execution of product development activities including formulation development, supporting pilot & plant trials, sensory evaluation, technology transfer and R&D documentation (specifications, protocols, reports etc.)
  • Coordinating and managing multidisciplinary projects, with colleagues from Quality, Marketing, external labs, vendors and suppliers
  • Diversity

    : Expanding the variety of food options available to consumers, allowing for more personalized and diverse dietary choices.
  • Enhancement of Sensory Properties

    : Improving the taste, texture, color, and overall appeal of food products to make them more attractive to consumers
  • Nutritional Improvement

    : Formulating products that better meet dietary needs and contribute to healthier diets.
  • Convenience:

    Developing products that are easier to prepare and consume, catering to the fast-paced lifestyle of modern consumers.
  • Food Safety:

    Enhancing the safety of food products through better preservation techniques, safer processing methods, and more rigorous testing procedures.
  • Should have relevant experience to work with NPD, HACCP, quality, regulatory in executing the ideas
  • Ensure the products developed and produced are consistent to the quality and comply with standards and meet all critical success factors.
  • Cost Reduction:

    Finding more efficient processes and technologies that reduce production costs, which can, in turn, lower the prices for consumers.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • 5 to 6 years of experience in Research & Development function in Food Processing company
  • Understanding of raw material functionality and nutrition and product manufacturing process
  • Consumer understanding and apply consumer insights into product design
  • Logical thinking and apply technical rationales in trouble shooting and decision making
  • Proven experience in conducting and delivering innovation projects including implementation activities
