Manager -Procurement Biomedical services

Position Objective:

To manage and execute procurement activities related to biomedical equipment, consumables, spares, and service contracts for the hospital, ensuring cost efficiency, quality compliance, timely availability, and adherence to statutory and hospital standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement & Vendor Management

• Plan, source, and procure biomedical equipment, accessories, consumables, and spare parts as per hospital requirements.
• Handle end-to-end procurement including RFQ/RFP, techno-commercial evaluation, negotiation, PO issuance, and delivery coordination.
• Develop and manage a reliable vendor base for biomedical equipment and services.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, warranty, and service-level agreements (SLAs).

Contract & AMC/CMC Management

• Manage Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) and Comprehensive Maintenance Contracts (CMC) for biomedical equipment.
• Ensure timely renewal and compliance of service contracts.
• Coordinate with vendors and biomedical engineering teams for equipment uptime and service delivery.

Coordination with Biomedical & Clinical Teams

• Work closely with Biomedical Engineering, Clinical, and User Departments to understand technical specifications and operational needs.
• Facilitate equipment evaluation, demos, trials, and technical clarifications.
• Ensure alignment between procurement decisions and clinical requirements.

Inventory & Cost Control

• Monitor inventory levels of biomedical consumables and critical spares to avoid stock-outs or excess inventory.
• Support cost optimization initiatives through standardization, alternate sourcing, and bulk procurement.
• Track capital and operational procurement budgets related to biomedical services.

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure procurement processes comply with hospital policies, NABH standards, statutory norms, and audit requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation including contracts, POs, vendor agreements, warranties, and service records.
• Support internal and external audits related to procurement and biomedical services.

Reporting & MIS

• Prepare periodic MIS reports on procurement spend, vendor performance, AMC status, and equipment lifecycle.
• Analyze procurement data to support management decision-making.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering (Biomedical) – Essential
• Bachelor’s degree with Postgraduate Diploma/MBA in Materials / Supply Chain / Procurement – Desirable

• Experience:

• 5–10 years of relevant experience in biomedical procurement or hospital materials management
• Experience in a multi-specialty or large healthcare facility preferred
