Role & responsibilities Approve & Account for Journal Entries Conduct Periodic Review of General Ledger Maintain & Update the GL Master Prepare and Maintain Checklist for Month End Journals to be Passed Ensure Month End Closure entries are Received from AP & AR Review Entries Received from AP & AR Conduct GL Scrutiny on a Monthly Basis for All the Expenditure Heads Ensure that Recurring Journals are accounted for Before Closure of Books Prepare and Account for Monthly Salary Journal based on Pay register Prepare and Account for Monthly Accruals for Bonus, Leave & Gratuity Prepare and Account for Accrued Interest and Other Deferred Costs Prepare and Account for Depreciation Accrual Prepare and Account for Capitalisation of Assets Prepare and Account for Apportioned Cost to each of the Cost Centers Ensure Accounting of Expenses to Standard GL Accounts Review GL Codes Periodically and update the master Adhere to Corporate Chart of Account Prepare and Finalize Trial Balance Prepare Financial Statements & Schedules attached there to Custodian for Financial Statements of the Unit Ensure that Sub ledgers are closed for accounting entries within the book closure schedule Inter Unit Reconciliations Ensure that Sub ledger to GL reconciliations are carried out before signing off for Book closure. Closure of GL as per the Book Closure Timeline. Submitting reports as and when required by the management. Coordinating for Tax Audit, Statutory Audit & Internal Audit Timely Closure of Books of Accounts Appropriate Cost Centre Allocation Accounting for Accruals on a monthly basis Review and Scrutiny of General Ledger Effective Maintenance of Books of Accounts Signing off of Trial Balance for MIS & Audit Statutory Audit Coordination Compliance to the statutes applicable Support during the Audit & MIS Depreciation & Amortization Accounting Financial Statements Support to other departments Preferred candidate profile Job competence.
