Role Overview:
A Software Business Analyst (Integrations Specialist) who partners with product, the business, architecture, IT operations and stakeholders to define, design and deliver integration-centric solutions. You will gather and validate business requirements, map processes and data flows, translate needs into clear functional and non-functional specifications, and collaborate with technical teams to ensure reliable, secure, and maintainable integrations between internal systems and third-party platforms (APIs, ETL, ESB, message brokers, SaaS connectors). The role balances stakeholder-facing analysis, technical design, and delivery support.

Requirements - Requirements elicitation and stakeholder management - Engage with business stakeholders, product owners and technical teams to elicit, document and prioritize integration and business requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and walkthroughs to surface use cases, success criteria and acceptance conditions.
- Maintain a clear backlog of integration requirements and user stories; assist with grooming and prioritization.

- Analysis, specification and design - Produce detailed functional specifications, API contracts (request/response formats, status codes, error handling), sequence and data flow diagrams, data mapping, and transformation rules.
- Define non-functional requirements relevant to integrations: performance, throughput, availability, security, retries, idempotency, monitoring and alerting.
- Create test cases and acceptance criteria for integration scenarios (end-to-end, error paths, edge cases).

- Integration architecture and technical collaboration - Work closely with solution and integration architects to evaluate integration patterns (synchronous vs asynchronous, point-to-point, brokered, event-driven) and select appropriate approaches.
- Collaborate with engineers to clarify design, refine API specifications (OpenAPI/Swagger), and support implementation, testing and deployment.
- Ensure schema/versioning strategy for APIs and data models, and plan for backward compatibility.

- Testing, validation and deployment support - Support integration testing (component, system, regression) and coordinate end-to-end test activities with QA and DevOps teams.
- Validate error handling, retries, timeouts, and rollback behavior; define recovery procedures for common failure modes.
- Assist in release planning, cutover scripts, and post-deployment verification of integrations.

- Monitoring, observability and continuous improvement - Define key metrics and logging requirements for integration endpoints and data flows.
- Work with operations/DevOps to ensure appropriate monitoring, alerting and runbooks are in place.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews and recommend improvements to processes and designs.
