Manager - Costing & MIS

Job Purpose:

To oversee and manage all aspects of product costing, cost control, and preparation of Management Information System (MIS) reports for effective decision-making. The role requires a CA/CMA/CS with strong analytical and reporting skills to ensure accurate financial insights for management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Costing & Budgeting

• Prepare and maintain standard cost sheets for all products and processes.
• Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs to determine product cost variance.
• Support in preparation of annual budgets and cost forecasts.
• Conduct cost audits and ensure alignment of actual costs with standard and budgeted costs.
• Evaluate cost-saving opportunities and suggest process improvements.

2. MIS Reporting

• Prepare periodic MIS reports (Weekly, Monthly) for management review.
• Develop dashboards summarizing key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production cost, sales, profit margins, and variance analysis.
• Provide detailed variance analysis between actual vs. budget vs. forecast.
• Consolidate financial and operational data for decision-making.
• Monthly working capital analysis, Funds flow analysis
• Automate and streamline MIS reporting processes using Excel / ERP tools (Power BI, OWN ERP, other tools).

3. Financial Analysis

• Perform cost-benefit analysis and profitability studies.
• Assist management in pricing strategy and margin analysis.
• Support business planning and strategic decisions with financial insights.
• Monitor working capital metrics like inventory, payables, and receivables.

4. Audit & Compliance

• Support internal and statutory audits with cost-related data and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with cost accounting standards (CAS) and applicable financial regulations.
• Maintain proper documentation of costing and MIS processes.

5. Coordination

• Liaise with production, purchase, and sales departments to gather accurate cost and operational data.
• Collaborate with plant and finance teams to ensure data accuracy in ERP.

Required Qualifications:

• Chartered Accountant (CA) Qualified or Cost Accountant or Company Seceratey
• 2–3 years of experience in costing, budgeting, or MIS reporting ( Preferably in manufacturing / Textile Sectors).
