Description
Responsible for planning and designing of the civil engineering aspects of solar power projects, including but not limited to site assessments, drains, roads, foundation design, and structural design ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes and local regulations.
Software Skills:
Required: MS Office, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and STAAD Pro / any FEA software.
Optional: CFD analysis will be considered as an advantage
Standards & Codes:
Knowledge of all relevant Indian Standards / Codes for Civil design. Good knowledge on physical and chemical properties of materials used in the solar industry.
Site Assessment and Planning:
Evaluation of site conditions through physical visits to site, review and study of Topographical survey, Contour mapping, Geotechnical investigation, Hydrology study, identify potential challenges / opportunities and impact of environmental factors.
Should be able to assess and generate grading plan to determine the cut / fill volumes based on the land contour profiles using Civil 3D for land development.
MMS Design / Steel Structural Design:
Good knowledge and hand-on experience in Module mounting structure design using STAAD Pro / Ansys / Any FEA software. Should be able to design independently.
Good knowledge on uniform loading, eccentric loading, different load cases, load combinations, analysis of deflections, displacements, utilization ratio, failure analysis and optimization of design with respect to cost control and optimization.
Should be able to perform calculations for fastener design / selection.
Should be able to design switch yard bay using structural steel considering all the loads including short circuit forces (given by electrical design team).
Foundation Design:
Should possess good knowledge and hands-on experience in various types of foundation designs viz; Pile foundations, Isolated footings, Combined footings, ICR skid, Transformer foundation, LT/HT Panel foundations and MCR R.C.C Building foundations with generation of proper design reports and calculation sheets independently.
Super Structure Design:
Should possess good knowledge and hands-on experience in supers structure designs viz Main control room R.C.C building, architectural plan, Steel structural canopies for outdoor panels, storage yards, sheds etc.
Road Design:
Expertise & hands-on experience in the design of W.B.M & Bitumen roads with calculation sheet. Should possess good knowledge of IRC standards.
Drain Design:
Should be well versed in drain designs for solar plant based on Hydrology & contour survey reports. Should be able to generate design calculations & most optimal drain sections.
Fencing Design & Plant Gate Design:
Should possess good knowledge in various types of fencing designs viz; Barbed wire, chain link mesh and pre-cast wall fencing along with design of plant gate design.
Pre-Bid and Tendering Support:
Preparation of drawings, bill of quantities & design calculations for Pre-Bid and tendering
purposes.
Good for construction & As Built drawings:
Should guide the draftsman in preparation of GFC” drawings / Fabrication drawings and should review before seeking approval from Head of Engineering.
Responsible for preparation of “As Built” drawings in collaboration with the project team to capture all the modifications arising during construction or post commissioning of the plant prior to handover.
Site Visits:
Will be required to make a couple of visits to project site to resolve any technical issues / guide the construction team.
Collaboration and teamwork:
Should collaborate and work closely with external and internal stake holders like Business development, Procurement, Supply Chain, Quality, Safety and Project teams to achieve the organisational goals.
