Manager / Assistant Manager - Tool Design

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Tool Design Engineer to lead and execute tool design activities for aluminium casting and automotive proto components. The role involves conceptualizing, designing, validating, and optimizing tooling solutions using Creo to meet functional, cost, and timeline requirements. The candidate will also be responsible for guiding a small team and coordinating with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and R&D.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop

  dies, moulds, and tools

  for aluminium casting and proto auto components using

  Creo

  .
• Prepare and review

  3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and GD&T documentation

  .
• Perform

  feasibility studies, DFMEA, and tool validation

  in line with project requirements.
• Optimize tool design for

  manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and durability

  .
• Collaborate with

  manufacturing, machining, and quality teams

  for tool trials, validation, and approval.
• Provide

  technical guidance

  to junior design engineers and technicians.
• Interact with customers for

  requirement gathering, design reviews, and technical presentations

  .
• Support

  proto development and new product introduction (NPI)

  projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve tool-related issues during trials and production runs.
  
• Ensure

  timely project delivery

  within budget and quality standards.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong expertise in

  Creo (Pro-E)

  for 3D/2D tool design.
• In-depth knowledge of

  aluminium casting processes.

• Hands-on experience with

  automotive proto components and tool design validation

  .
• Good understanding of

  tool steel, heat treatment, and machining processes

  .
• Knowledge of

  GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and engineering standards

  .
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  
• Strong

  project management and team-handling

  skills.
• Good communication and presentation abilities.
  

Qualifications & Experience

• B.E./B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Automotive, or Relevant

• 8 to 12 years of experience

  in tool design for automotive / aluminium casting industry.
• Experience as

  Assistant Manager / Manager level

  with exposure to team leadership preferred
