Mandatory Qualification Requirements:

1. Must have First class degree in B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
2. Must have

   7 - 10 years of work experience

   in design and development of electro-mechanical products for automotive industry. Experience in designing Solenoid/Motor operated Valves is an added advantage.
3. Must have successfully developed at least one product based on benchmarking of an existing product and applying VA/VE principle.
4. Must have hands-on working experience in at least one full product design & development project including, but not limited to – VOC/product requirements gathering, compliance report preparation, specification finalization, concept design, detailed design, design verification thru POC/simulation, prototype build, complete design validation testing and production release for automotive application.
5. Must have lead resolution of at least one supplier / production / design validation / customer problems using 8D process and RCA tools like Fishbone Diagram / Fault Tree Analysis / 5-Why analysis etc.
6. Must have Good knowledge of Injection moulding, die casting, sheet metal parts designing.

1. Interface with customers for understanding their technical requirements document (TR), prepare compliance report (TFSO), define product specification, co-ordinate with customer for space availability and mounting requirements (boundary conditions), create initial DFMEA & Design Validation Plan (DVP) based on customer TR, create/review product GA drawing and get them approved by customers.
2. Create B-Diagram, P-Diagram, Interface Matrix & full DFMEA as per AIAG 4th Edition / VDA requirements.
3. Create Design Validation Plan (DVP), write Test Procedures, define Pass/Fail criteria based on customer TR and provide all the inputs to Mfg. Eng./Automation team for designing Test set-up/equipment.
4. Perform product design tasks like concept design, detailed design, modelling & drafting using SolidWorks CAD, basic engineering calculations, basic structural FEA using SolidWorks Simulation, tolerance stack-up analysis, apply GD&T, prepare Item Codes, BOM independently and also guide juniors on the same.
5. Co-ordinate with internal/external - ANSYS simulation experts, electronics hardware/PCB designers and software programmers to optimize product design under supervision.
6. Lead DFSS effort with CFT and Suppliers to optimize the design for (DfX) - Form/Fit/Function, Manufacturing, Assembly, Reliability/Quality, Cost, Service, EHS/RoHS, etc. under supervision.
7. Conduct Design Reviews with CFT/Suppliers and get sign-off before releasing design for prototype build.
8. Create and maintain all development project documents as per applicable QMS system – ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS 9100 under SolidWorks PDM folders and face internal/external audits with minimum supervision.
9. Prepare design documents required for various product certification with minimum supervision.
10. Provide technical support for mechanical & electrical components supplier selection, prototype build and continuous improvement efforts during production.
11. Lead resolution of supplier / production / design validation / customer problems using 8D process (RCA and CAPA) and implement design changes thru ECRN process with minimum supervision.
12. Prioritize, balance and manage multiple tasks/projects with sense of urgency in a changing environment, with available resources.
13. Train GETs/DE/SDE on mechanical and electrical parts design/development activities.
14. Be the technical SPOC for all product design activities and provide status updates/clarifications to PMO/FH/CFT members and management on regular basis.
