Job Description

You will be a key member of the Global Finance organization at Bristol Myers Squibb in the role of Manager, Alliance Accounting. In this position, you will support the management team in global consolidation, financial, and external reporting processes. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with external and internal stakeholders, preparing journal entries, performing balance sheet reconciliations, reporting results, and managing cash activity. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing quarterly royalty statements, ensuring compliance with license and collaboration agreements, and meeting reporting deadlines. As the Manager, Alliance Accounting, you will have the opportunity to participate in cross-functional projects, provide support for audits and control tests related to royalties and alliance practices, and drive process improvement and automation initiatives within the controllership organization. You will analyze and implement changes to corporate reporting systems, processes, reports, and controls to align with the evolving business models of the company. To qualify for this role, you should have at least 5 years of accounting experience with a focus on US GAAP. A university degree in Accounting and CA (Chartered Accountant) certification are required. Experience in a public company setting is strongly preferred, along with exposure to collaboration and license arrangements. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, particularly in manipulating large data sets, are necessary. Previous experience in the Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences/Biotech industry is advantageous. You should possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills, the ability to prioritize and manage workloads in a complex environment, and a team-oriented and process-oriented mindset. Being accountable, self-motivated, and results-oriented with a strong sense of ownership is essential. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under pressure and tight deadlines are key attributes. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels and departments within the company are important. Working knowledge of SAP and SAP Business Consolidation Systems is preferred. The role will require you to thrive in a fast-growing environment with frequent changes, necessitating strong multi-tasking skills and flexibility.
