Job Description

You will be joining the Gartnavel General Hospital Estates Department as a Maintenance Multi Skilled Shift Electrical Technician. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining a wide range of building services plant and equipment. Your responsibilities will include providing technical expertise, ensuring safe and efficient systems of work for all building services, and delivering electrical services to meet the needs of NHS GG&C Health Board. You will be required to examine and inspect faults in plant and machinery, recommend repair solutions, and discuss the possible effects on patient care with managers. Planned preventative maintenance tasks will be part of your routine, and you will need to adhere to NHS GG&C Health and Safety and SHTM Policies and Procedures. Additionally, you may need to undertake minor alterations and modifications to existing services. To be successful in this role, you should have a recognized EITB or CITB craft Electrical Apprenticeship or City & Guilds qualification, along with extensive experience in electrical building maintenance, preferably in the healthcare sector. An HNC or equivalent qualification in a core subject is essential, with additional qualifications as required in non-core skills. Your ability to manage workloads, prioritize tasks, and comply with health and safety standards will be vital. You will be expected to contribute to the delivery of outstanding patient care by upholding the values of the organization and demonstrating a commitment to excellence in your work.
