You will be joining the Gartnavel General Hospital Estates Department as a Maintenance Multi Skilled Shift Electrical Technician. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining a wide range of building services plant and equipment. Your responsibilities will include providing technical expertise, ensuring safe and efficient systems of work for all building services, and delivering electrical services to meet the needs of NHS GG&C Health Board. You will be required to examine and inspect faults in plant and machinery, recommend repair solutions, and discuss the possible effects on patient care with managers. Planned preventative maintenance tasks will be part of your routine, and you will need to adhere to NHS GG&C Health and Safety and SHTM Policies and Procedures. Additionally, you may need to undertake minor alterations and modifications to existing services. To be successful in this role, you should have a recognized EITB or CITB craft Electrical Apprenticeship or City & Guilds qualification, along with extensive experience in electrical building maintenance, preferably in the healthcare sector. An HNC or equivalent qualification in a core subject is essential, with additional qualifications as required in non-core skills. Your role will also involve facilitating communication and cooperation among team members to foster a culture of proactive equipment maintenance and continuous improvement. Conducting training sessions and workshops to educate employees on TPM concepts, methodologies, and tools will be part of your responsibilities. You will provide guidance and support to team members to ensure understanding and adherence to TPM practices. Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment reliability, downtime reduction, and maintenance costs, and analyzing data to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for improvement will be crucial. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field, along with 8-10 years of experience for Diploma holders and 6-8 years for BE holders in TPM implementation, are encouraged to apply. Proven experience in maintenance, reliability engineering, or operations management with a focus on TPM or similar continuous improvement methodologies is required. A strong understanding of TPM principles, tools, and techniques, including autonomous maintenance, planned maintenance, and focused improvement, is essential.
