Purpose of Job:
Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by providing general maintenance and repair services to ensure safe and efficient operations of CHAS Health facilities, and to support a comfortable environment for patients, employees, visitors, and the public.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensures parking areas, patios, sitting areas, and walkways are clean and well-maintained.
- Diagnoses, repairs, installs, and performs preventative maintenance on building systems.
- Assists with updating and making repairs to clinics as needed.
- Participates in on-call rotations to provide support outside of regular business hours and is available for after-hours work as needed.
- Ensures facility security by changing codes and key cores, as directed.
- Assists with vaccine transportation and monitoring on an as-needed basis, ensuring proper handling, temperature control, and documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Performs other duties assigned, including supporting the CHAS Health Mission and Core Values.
Qualifications
Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Maintenance experience preferred.Skills: Computer skills required. Ability to operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment required. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment, required. Valid driver’s license and insurance required. Commitment to supporting a safe and respectful environment required.
Physical Demands
Must regularly move around facilities and be able to sit, stand, and be mobile. Using hands and reaching with arms occurs over two-thirds of the day. Regularly required to climb, bend, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Regularly required to communicate by talking/hearing. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, periodically lift up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
