Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Strategy & Planning

Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) programs for all electroplating equipment (rectifiers, plating tanks, conveyor systems, filtration units, pumps, automation, etc.).

Lead the planning and execution of all major maintenance activities, including overhauls and turnarounds.

Analyze equipment failures and performance data (MTBF, MTTR, OEE) to implement Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement strategies.

Manage the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for accurate work order, history, and inventory tracking.

Technical Leadership & Troubleshooting

Oversee the diagnosis and prompt resolution of complex electrical, mechanical, chemical, and automation issues affecting the electroplating lines.

Ensure the correct maintenance and calibration of sensitive process equipment, including rectifiers, chemical dosing systems, and temperature controls.

Deep expertise in maintaining the chemical processing and wastewater treatment plant (ETP/STP) components critical to the electroplating facility.

Team & Resource Management

Lead, mentor, and manage the maintenance team, including electrical, mechanical, and utility technicians/engineers.

Develop training programs to enhance the technical skills and safety awareness of the maintenance staff.

Manage departmental budget, control maintenance costs, and manage spare parts inventory.

Coordinate with the Production/Operations HOD to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to production.

Safety, Quality, and Compliance

Ensure all maintenance work strictly adheres to company EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) policies, as well as statutory and regulatory compliance (e.g., electrical safety codes, ISO standards like ISO 9001/14001).

Implement and enforce robust Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and other critical safety protocols.

Oversee the maintenance of all plant utilities, including HVAC,

compressed air, and power distribution systems.

Qualifications

Education

Mandatory: Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Instrumentation Engineering.

Preferred: Masters degree or relevant certification (e.g., CMRP).

Experience

Minimum 10-15 years of progressive experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment.

Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a leadership role (HOD/Manager) specifically within an Electroplating, Surface Finishing, or Chemical Processing Plant.

Proven hands-on experience with the maintenance of electroplating rectifiers, chemical handling systems, and associated automation (PLCs, SCADA).

Skills & Competencies

Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute long-term maintenance strategies.
