Maintenance Fitter

Job Title: Maintenance FitterJob Purpose:

To perform preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs, and installation of mechanical equipment and machinery to ensure optimal plant performance and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine maintenance and inspection of machinery and mechanical systems.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs in a timely manner.
• Install, align, and test new machinery and equipment.
• Fabricate and fit mechanical parts using tools such as lathes, grinders, and welders.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report major faults to supervisors.
• Follow all safety procedures and ensure compliance with company standards.
• Work collaboratively with electricians, engineers, and production staff to minimize disruptions.
• Participate in continuous improvement and reliability programs.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Fitting, Maintenance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Maintenance or Mechanical Fitter in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Awareness of workplace health and safety regulations.
