InfyStrat is excited to announce an opening for a Mainframe Developer within our Vantage team. As a Mainframe Developer, you will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects that utilize cutting-edge solutions on our robust mainframe systems. This role involves designing, developing, and enhancing applications that drive our business operations. We are looking for a dedicated professional with extensive experience in mainframe programming languages such as COBOL, JCL, and DB2 along with a proactive approach to solving complex challenges. You will be working closely with our analysts and engineers to provide high-quality software solutions that achieve strategic goals. Responsibilities

  • Craft and enhance mainframe applications using programming languages including COBOL, JCL, and DB2
  • Analyze and resolve bugs and performance issues in existing systems
  • Collaborate with team members to understand functional specifications and translate them into technical designs
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to best practices
  • Create comprehensive documentation for all applications and processes
  • Continuously seek ways to optimize performance and improve system functionalities
  • Engage in ongoing learning to stay up-to-date with mainframe technologies and contemporary software development practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8+ years experience in mainframe development, particularly with COBOL, JCL, and DB2
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot software issues effectively
  • Experience in working with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices is a plus
  • Proficient with mainframe tools and technologies
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively within the Vantage team
