Role Overview

Mainframe Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain applications on

  Mainframe technologies

  including

  COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2

  .
• Lead and participate in the design and implementation of complex system enhancements and integrations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, architects, and quality engineers to deliver robust solutions.
• Work with relational databases such as

  DB2

  and other

  RDBMS

  products to ensure efficient data management.
• Integrate Mainframe applications with

  Java-based systems

  using

  Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, and Kubernetes

  .
• Drive modernization initiatives by re-engineering legacy systems to leverage cloud and microservice architectures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of Mainframe applications.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members as required.
• Maintain documentation, coding standards, and best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand requirements and translate them into efficient solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years of total experience

  in software development.

• 6+ years of hands-on experience

  in

  Mainframe development

  .

• 2-3+ years of experience

  working with

  Java and related technologies

  .
• Expert-level knowledge of

  Mainframe tools and technologies

  including

  COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2

  .
• Familiarity with

  IMS/IDMS

  and

  screen development

  is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of

  Microservices architecture

  and experience implementing service-based solutions.
• Experience with

  NoSQL databases

  such as

  MongoDB

  or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of

  MuleSoft

  ,

  Azure Cloud

  , and

  Kubernetes

  environments.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a product team structure.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred).
• Experience in the

  Financial Services domain

  is an added advantage.
