Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities Analyze, design, develop, test, and maintain Mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2 as primary technologies. Develop batch and online programs as per business requirements. Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues in existing applications. Work on performance tuning and optimization of batch jobs. Create and maintain technical documentation for programs and systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver high-quality solutions. Provide support during SIT, UAT, and Production implementation. Follow change management and incident management processes. Communicate effectively with onsite/offshore teams and stakeholders. Preferred Candidate Profile Experience: Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in Mainframe development and support. Technical Skills: Strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2 (must-have) Good knowledge of PL/I, CICS, VSAM (nice to have) Domain Knowledge: Preferable to have experience in Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance domains. Work Mode: Should be flexible to work in a hybrid model minimum 10 days per month from office (Bangalore / Pune). Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients and team members. Other Attributes: Ability to handle tasks independently and deliver within deadlines. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. Good understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
