Asst. Manager/ Dy. Manager- EHS For Sikkim Location
Regulatory Compliance:- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, FDA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001). Maintain all necessary permits, licenses, and documentation. Serve as the point of contact for regulatory agencies and audits. Monitor and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and EHS guidelines relevant to pharmaceuticals. Safety Program Development & Implementation Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific safety programs, procedures, and training. Conduct risk assessments, HAZOPs, and Job Safety Analyses (JSA). Manage chemical safety programs, including handling of hazardous drugs, solvents, and waste. Promote Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) and conduct regular safety observations. Incident Investigation & Reporting Lead or support the investigation of incidents, near misses, and occupational illnesses. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions. Maintain and analyze incident metrics and reports. Environmental Management Oversee waste management, including hazardous and biomedical waste disposal. Monitor air emissions, water discharges, and chemical storage. Implement pollution prevention and resource conservation initiatives. Health Management Monitor employee exposure to chemicals, noise, and other workplace hazards. Collaborate with occupational health professionals for regular health surveillance. Emergency Preparedness Develop and implement emergency response and disaster preparedness plans. Conduct regular emergency drills (fire, chemical spills, evacuation). Maintain and inspect emergency equipment (e.g., eyewash stations, spill kits). Training & Communication Provide regular EHS training for employees, contractors, and visitors. Maintain training records and ensure training is up-to-date. Promote safety awareness through communication campaigns, safety committees, and toolbox talks. Leadership & Culture Lead the EHS team and collaborate cross-functionally with production, maintenance, QA/QC, and HR departments. Foster a culture of accountability and safety ownership at all levels. Serve as a mentor and coach on EHS matters. Audits and Inspections Conduct regular internal EHS audits and inspections. Prepare for and manage external inspections or audits by regulators and corporate EHS teams.
