The Machinist will be responsible for operating and maintaining precision machining equipment used in mould and tooling production. This role involves interpreting technical drawings, machining components to tight tolerances, and ensuring high-quality mould parts for injection, blow, or die-casting applications.

Key ResponsibilitiesMachining & Production

• Operate CNC milling, CNC turning, conventional milling, grinding, drilling, and other machining equipment.
• Machine mould components such as cores, cavities, inserts, plates, and electrodes according to specifications.
• Set up machines, select appropriate tools, and adjust parameters to achieve required tolerances.
• Perform EDM/WEDM operations (if applicable).
• Ensure all components meet dimensional accuracy using measurement instruments.

Technical & Quality Control

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and technical documents.
• Conduct in-process inspections using micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, CMM reports, etc.
• Ensure machining accuracy as per mould standards and customer requirements.
• Identify machining errors and perform corrective actions.

Maintenance & Safety

• Perform basic routine maintenance of machines and tools.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
• Follow company safety procedures and use PPE as required.

Collaboration

• Coordinate with design, EDM, polishing, and assembly teams for smooth workflow.
• Provide feedback to engineers on manufacturability and design improvements.

Qualifications & SkillsEducation

• ITI / Diploma in Machining, Tool & Die Making, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

Experience

• 2–5+ years of experience in machining for mould manufacturing or precision tooling.
• Experience with CNC programming (Fanuc/Siemens/Heidenhain) is an added advantage.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of machining practices and tool selection.
• Ability to work with steel grades commonly used in moulds (P20, H13, S7, etc.).
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, Powermill, UG NX) is a plus.
• Proficiency in using measurement and inspection tools.

Soft Skills

• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to multitask and meet production deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
