Machinist

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Machinist with strong hands-on expertise in operating conventional machine tools. The candidate should be capable of independently handling machining jobs with precision, ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion of work.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and set up Lathe, Shaper, Milling Machine, and Radial Milling Machine independently.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and specifications accurately.
• Perform machining operations such as turning, facing, boring, threading, slotting, drilling, milling, and shaping.
• Select appropriate tools, cutters, fixtures, and machining parameters.
• Ensure dimensional accuracy using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators.
• Carry out minor machine maintenance, alignment, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and follow safety procedures at all times.
• Coordinate with supervisors/engineers to meet production and quality requirements.
• Minimize material wastage and optimize machining processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Machining, Fitter, or equivalent technical qualification.
• 7–10 years of proven experience as a machinist in a workshop or industrial environment.
• Strong practical knowledge of conventional machining operations.
• Good understanding of tolerances, fits, surface finish, and machining practices.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of workshop safety standards and quality control practices.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience in handling heavy or precision components.
• Ability to guide junior machinists or helpers.
• Basic understanding of materials such as carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, brass, etc.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
