You will be responsible for operating and maintaining lathe and milling machines. You will review drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production. Taking precise measurements for cutting or shaping will be a crucial part of your role. You should be able to select the appropriate machine and settings for a given task and plan the proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment efficiently. Monitoring production and adjusting feed and other settings as necessary will also be part of your daily tasks. Additionally, you will maintain an inventory of completed products, check output for quality assurance, and document or discard defects as needed. Identifying the need for and performing machine maintenance and minor repairs will also fall under your responsibilities. It is important to maintain a safe and clean workstation and contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
