Machinery Operator

As a Plant Operator, your role involves operating and monitoring various equipment such as pumps, control panels, dosing systems, decanters, WAS pumps, air blowers, and reactors. You will be responsible for accurately logging operational data like decant time and flow rate in the logbook. Regular tasks include removing floating debris such as FOG, plastics, and other waste materials, and reporting any operational issues or abnormalities to the Process Supervisor/Engineer. Additionally, you will control the operation of plant systems and machinery, identify causes of equipment or process malfunctions, and take corrective actions. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct daily checks of the wastewater treatment process and periodic pump station inspections - Perform scheduled weekend checks of the plant on a rotating basis - Carry out routine tasks including equipment cleaning, chemical application, monitoring, and data collection - Maintain mechanical and electrical equipment such as pumps, pipes, motors, engines, and boilers - Inspect incoming raw materials to ensure they meet required specifications - Operate computerized control systems to regulate treatment processes - Monitor treated water quality to ensure compliance with applicable cleanliness and sanitation standards - Maintain detailed records of water quality, chemical usage, equipment maintenance, and daily operations - Prepare operational reports and generate alerts for potential issues requiring supervisor attention Qualifications Required: - Prior experience in operating and maintaining industrial equipment is preferred - Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and equipment is an advantage - Ability to work in shifts including day, morning, night, and rotational shifts - Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record operational data - Good communication skills to report issues and work effectively with supervisors and team members The company offers benefits such as health insurance and Provident Fund.
